Experiencing Altitude
Colorado Springs sits at over 6,000 foot elevation. Here are some of our favorite tips for coping with the altitude and lack of humidity:
Drink plenty of water! Add electrolytes when possible. Use lotion and lip balm regularly. While low humidity can make it feel great outside even on a hot day, dehydration is much more likely due to the lack of moisture.
Physical activity will feel more strenuous, including just walking up stairs. Ease into physical activities. Don't overexert yourself before you make it to the dance floor!
Consider preemptively taking ibuprofen prior to arriving in COS and your first few mornings here. It can help prevent altitude headaches or other altitude sickness symptoms.
Be cautious when consuming alcohol. Your tolerence level will decrease at altitude. Alternate alcoholic drinks with water. Do not try to keep up with the locals!
You are much closer to the sun at high altitude. Use sunscreen daily and reapply regularly.

Weather
Weather is typically warm with low humidity. Daily temperatures are usually in the 80s, but can drop into the 50s at night.
There is a consistent chance of early afternoon thunderstorms daily. Check the weather forecast before doing outdoor activities.
Attire
Summer formal attire is requested. To us this means lighter fabrics and colors. Jackets for men are optional, though may be helpful when temperatures drop in the evening.
The ceremony is planned to be outside, weather permitting. While there is a paved sidewalk to the ceremony space, the ceremony itself is on grass. Additionally, there is little to no shade in the outdoor ceremony area. Cocktail hour will be in an indoor/outdoor space. Reception will be indoors.
Venue - Spruce Mountain Events
Address: 14771 S Spruce Mountain Rd, Larkspur, CO 80118
We will have exclusive use of the Upper Ranch and surrounding acreage. Weather permitting, our ceremony will take place outside at "Trey's Vista". Cocktail hour will be in a combined indoor/outdoor space. The reception will take place indoors in the Ponderosa Room.
Due to its remote location which will make for a stunning wedding day, this venue is not accessible by rideshare apps (e.g. Uber/Lyft). There is ample parking available on-site.
Additionally, there is limited light pollution around the venue. While this means we'll likely have a spectacular night sky to close out our day, there is limited street lighting. We want everyone to have fun at our wedding, but please designate a driver to assure everyone gets home safely or arrange for an alternate mode of transportation.
